Cuyahoga County – Chris Ronayne, who is running for Cuyahoga County Executive, visited Step Forward’s Louis Stokes Head Start Center Wednesday.
Ronayne spoke with Dr. Jacklyn Chisholm, President and CEO of Step Forward, Derek Cluse, Chief of Staff for Step Forward, Douglas Bennett, the Vice President of External Affairs and Nicole Hawthorne, Site Administrator of Louis Stokes, about the agency’s ongoing teaching shortages and other challenges facing early childhood education.
During his site tour, Ronayne spent a generous amount of time with children in the Early Head Start classroom, which serves children ages six weeks to three years old.
Ronayne then read to Head Start students, ages three to five years old.
“Step Forward continues to have a lasting impact in Cuyahoga County,” Douglas Bennett, Vice President of External Affairs, said. “It is always an honor to host local, state and federal leaders so they can see the critical services our agency offers first-hand.”
